Local, not loud
We use local knowledge to create context, not to overwhelm the day with facts.
Our story
Tideway Walks began with an affection for the Cornwall coast when it is doing ordinary, changeable things: receiving weather, revealing rock pools, taking in the boats. Our walks help visitors read those changes rather than simply pass them.
Founded in St Ives
Routes shaped one pavement, lane and question at a time.
Our work began with a simple observation: visitors often meet a city through its queueing system. We wanted to offer another tempo. Tideway Walks runs routes that use familiar landmarks as a starting point and then make room for the minor details that carry a place's character.
In Cornwall Coast, that means adapting to the light, weather, footfall and the occasional useful conversation with a local shopkeeper. It also means being plain about what a tour includes, what it costs and where it begins.
“The route should leave enough space for a visitor to form their own relationship with the place.”
We are a small independent team. We do not manufacture urgency, and we do not promise a version of St Ives that does not exist. We invite you to walk it with attention.
Talk through a routeWe use local knowledge to create context, not to overwhelm the day with facts.
Prices, pacing and practical notes are shared before you decide.
We keep the group scale human so the route can breathe.
